Do I have basis for a lawsuit against Friedmans jewelers, would it even be worth it? Back in 2004 my husband proposed and bought me a 1.5 carat diamond ring from Friedman Jewelers. Recently they filed Chapter 7 (liquidation) and Chapter 11 (Bankruptcy). On my wedding band one of the baguettes is missing and needs to be replaced and repaired and he did purchase the warranty. The ring was abou $2000 and the warranty was $150 dollars lifetime. I left the ring for almost a month and was called by the manager to pick it up because they wouldn't repair due to the bankruptcy/liquidation filing. Question is, Would it be worth it to file in small claims court to sue for the cost of repair and stone and cost of the warranty (I have a friend that's a jeweler that is going to fix the ring), being that they are filing Chapter 7 and 11? Would I even have a chance? I went back yesterday to pick up my ring. I was thinking about them selling it off...I've heard of it happening before..supposedly the stores are all closing within 90 days.

Info on/ price range of Robbins Brothers compared to other Jewelers? I'd like some tips before heading to the store if anyone has been to Robbins Bros. Would you say they are overpriced or have decent deals? Does Robbins Bros. carry a nice selection of rings in the under $1500 range? They don't list prices on their website. Do they list them on the pieces instore? Would their prices compare more to Kays (which seem to have a good selection of moderately priced rings on there website) or snobby, overpriced jewelery stores? The reason I'm concerned is we had a HORRIBLE experience engagement ring shopping the first time out. We'd like to avoid that in the future. My fiance & I walked into our neighborhood, privately owned jewelers (Mulloys) to look at engagement rings. They immediately led us to the platinum, designer, big ol honken' rock case and when I asked to look at some white gold rings under $1500 she looked at me like I was hobo and asked "Is that just for the setting?" and showed me a thin white gold band w/ a CZ! eff those people!

Custom Jewelers in Texas? My boyfriend and I have been looking at engagement rings. We're pretty specific about what we want: a diamond and sapphire ring with pretty extensive filigree work in the Art Deco style. And honestly most of the diamond and sapphire rings we've seen in stores are just flat ugly. So, we're beginning to think that most mass made rings just aren't for us, even the vintage inspired ones. He doesn't like the thought of estate jewelry. So, we've opted to create one. Our budget on both the engagement and wedding ring is about 14k. kay jewelers/jared jewelers credit cards michigan? ok......so I applied for the kays and jared card on the same day. I ended up recieving both cards, what I found out was both cards are from the same company and SHARE the same credit limit. The thing is....on my credit report it shows both cards and they have a 2100 dollar credit limit a piece even though its shared. I called them about this and they said there was nothing I can do if i were to cancel one I 'd have to cancel both. isnt this illegal? they are showing incorrect info on my credit report. Please no more stupid answers: The point is the more credit someone has and atleast I have, and MINE situation.,the higher risk we are, and if their showing I have credit which i dont really have then how is that good! example: If I had ONE credit card with a 100 limit and the agency reported it as 2000 limit then if I were to try and get a loan they'd take that in cosideration that I have 2000 of RISK I could spend. understand??
