Do all watch repair jewelers mark initials and date inside the case when they work on antique watches?
I have an Elgin ladies pocket watch. I believe it is gold and is quite ornate, with a picture of a village on the front and a bird with a banner and flowers on the back. Both are surrounded with a border of flowers and leaves, and the circumference of the watch has a scalloped border. The earliest jewelers mark I can read is 1935. I am trying to learn the age of the watch. I would also like to know if it can be repaired. It runs but I cannot set the time.

- if the craftsman and knows his job they do... it can be repaired by a master craftsman's they actually build the parts that are needed .. hubby has a collection of pocket watches we use an old watchmaker ... there is an organization of watchmakers you may be able to find one on the net . but don't use a regular jewelry store.
