What is a easy way to display jewelry? Without spending alot of money?

I have a jewelry collection that i want to display, mount on boards or something, I have lost my job and i want to take the collection to auction. Any ideas? Thanks.

1. Cover a piece of cardboard with black fabric. Paint if that's out, but it will have to be poster board. You can make an easel on the back if you like Arrange the jewelry as desired. Matching pieces and then by type, bracelets, ear rings, necklaces, etc.
